How do I submit a Warranty claim?

To add warranty widget on myCFM Portal click the “Add a Widget” or “+” icon on the portal.

The Add Widgets dialog box appears. Select Warranty Widget and click Add Widgets.

Once the widget is added, click on the New Claim button inside the Warranty widget.

The New Claim window appears with the header detail. Fill in the details as per the claim requirements.

Mandatory Fields:

1.      Engine Family

2.      Customer

3.      Credit To

After entering the values in the mandatory fields, click on the Create button for creating a claim header.

The Generate New Claim dialog box appears. Click on the continue button.

Note: The claim number is an auto-generated number made up of the customer code + platform + random number.

Once the claim is created, it is in Initial stage as shown below. Click on the Add Item button to add line items.

Fill in the below item details as per the claim requirements then click on the Save & Return button for one claim item or select Save & Add Item button to add more than one line item.

If there are many claim items, use the bulk sheet to load bulk claim items. Follow the below steps to download and add the bulk items using the bulk sheet. Click on the Bulk Upload button.

The Bulk Item Upload dialog box appears. Click on the Download Bulk Upload Template link to download the template.

Note: As part of customer requirements GE makes occasional, minor changes to the template sheet. Use the latest template from the portal.

Refer to the “Model Lookup” and “Field Details” sheets in the bulk load template to get the template details.

Let’s validate Bulk sheet template:

Hover over the cells in row 2 to understand what is needed for the line item. Each cell must meet a special format based on the requirements. Copy and pasting other formats will cause the form to potentially validate, but not upload.

Follow the below steps while performing copy paste action:

Copy the data that you need to paste in the Bulk sheet template, select the cell and right-click to open the paste option as shown below. This would format the data to the destination format.

Note: If what is pasted isn’t the same as what you copied (most likely the date) then you would need to manually add the information into each cell. This validation is applicable only for a small amount of columns.

Once the columns are filled with valid data, select the VALIDATE button in the bulk sheet.

After the successful validation, template can be loaded on the portal using UPLOAD button.

Once the line items are added, the required documents can be attached.

When the claim is loaded with correct data, submit the claim for the warranty admin review.
