Why are we making these changes?
- Improve and better standardize CNR format and recommendations
- Continue to provide recommendations that operators may use to enhance their fleet management
- Offer better delineation of CNR use in combination with published Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA)
- Create mechanism for rapid deployment of CNRs for new or emerging fleet issues to benefit from diagnostics until ICA and other fleet documents are issued or updated
Instructions for Continued Airworthiness refers to instructions that provide guidance on how to properly maintain the product in an airworthy state on wing that are primarily contained in these documents:
- Aircraft or Line Maintenance Manuals (AMM/LMM)
- Fault Isolation Manuals / Trouble Shooting Manuals (FIM/TSM)
- Service Bulletins (SB)
- Maintenance Planning Documents (MPD)
- Time Limited Dispatch (TLD) documents
- Minimum Equipment List (MEL) documents
- Engine Manuals (EM/ESM)
