Can I get a departure record for a CNR?

  1. CFM Do not provide departure records for CNR’s. Departure records are a form of ICA as they provide maintenance recommendations that depart from published ICA documents. Thus, departure records require technical substantiation that meet certain certification basis and documentation requirements. The maintenance recommendations contained in CNR’s are technically corroborated based on field experience and/or analysis,
  2. CNR’s are not ICA. Maintenance recommendations, including timing, contained in CNR’s are based on overall fleet knowledge, experience, and analysis, but do not meet the certification criteria required for Departure Records.
  3. CNR recommendations provide a generic fleet recommendation. However, because there is significant variation in aircraft and engine operations, individual operators may have additional data, analyses, or other information that allows discretion regarding timing and specific maintenance performed. Timing recommendations are intended to provide general priority and should not be considered a firm limit.
