How do I understand my Foam Wash performance relative to Water Wash?
On the Home page, the Scorecard provides a “Foam Wash” toggle to add additional columns to the scorecard providing a few Foam Wash Performance metrics (if applicable for the customer, or wash event data set). All pages in the tool allow you to include, or exclude, Foam Wash events and/or Water Wash events using the “Filter” selection of Wash Type, as well. Furthermore, various plots within the tool allow you to segregate data by Wash Type for a comparative analysis. EWA, in its present state, does not explicitly quantify the incremental, demonstrated performance benefit of foam over water due to the complexity of such an analysis. The user should be cautious in simply comparing “recoveries” of a collection of foam washes to a collection of water washes as there are many variables that can drive differences in recovery beyond the wash type (e.g., wash interval, High Pressure Compressor recoverable deterioration prior to wash, engine unrecoverable deterioration prior to wash, wash types that preceded a specific wash, previous wash effectiveness, etc.) On the Exploratory Analysis page, plotting the metrics of “Recovery” vs “Delta since last event (pre-wash)”, and Coloring data by “Wash Type,” often gives a useful visual comparison of individual wash event recoveries normalized by one individual “x” for data sets with large sample sizes.
